"can i sponsor my sister who is 44 yrs old?"

Dear Mr. Cohen,

I just want to know if I could sponsor my sister who is 44 years old. If yes, what would be the requirements? I am an independent immigrant residing in Toronto.

A sibling is not included within the common definition of a Family Class applicant. You would only be eligible to sponsor your sister if you are unmarried, have no close relatives in Canada, and have no eligible members of the Family Class available.

Hello Mr. Cohen,

As a follow up question to your reply, can a person sponsor one's parents under Family Class if already married (& has sponsored one's spouse)?
