"Payment of fees for the government"
At the moment I intend to place my application for permanent visa under the Family Class category. My application is being made from Montréal, one thing I don`t understand is that when paying for fees, must you pay fees to the federal government as well to the government of Québec?
I am extremely confused, and also must you apply to the government of Québec at the same time that you are applying for the Federal Government. I find it quite stresfull, because when I call the Immigration Department they were not able to give me much help regarding this well honestly they were not able to give me any at all.

When the province of Quebec is involved, there are typically two stages to the application procedure; the application for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ), and an application for landing as a permanent resident (the typical immigration application). The latter is handled by the Federal immigration department, while selection matters are handled by Quebec's.

When applying for the CSQ, the fees payable to Quebec are paid, and the Federal processing and Right of Landing fees are paid when proceeding with the rest of the immigration procedures.

Although it is possible to apply to both offices concurrently, it would typically be best to obtain (or at least apply for) the CSQ prior to submitting the Federal application. The reason is that there maybe time limits set by the Federal immigration officials when requesting the CSQ.

I have taken my interview in New York U.S.A. I am told that the
landing fees must be paid in US dollars and not in canadian
dollars. Is this correct.
