"Election & New Immi. regulations - Mr. Cohen, Pl. help."

Dear Mr. cohen,

Thanks for your reply on my earlier postings. Appreciate it.

When will the new govt. be formed after the election results are announced? - Just a guesstimate, barring political uncertanities.

In case the librels( they were the ruling party, I think) come back to the power then how long do you think they'll take to make new regulation , proposed by them, into a law?

In case of an opposition govt., then what is the fate of the bill?

In short when will the bill become a law - outer limit?

Would appreciate your reply

Thanks in advance....nkris.

The responses to your inquiries are highly speculative, as they make assumptions that cannot accurately be predicted.

It would be expected that, after an election, a new government would begin to carry out its duties in mid-January of 2001 at the earliest. If the Liberals gain a majority, then I would expect that the new Regulations may be enacted by approximately April or May of 2001.

If the election does not result in a Liberal Majority, then it is unlikely that the new laws and Regulations would be revived in the current form. If this is the case, the changes could be delayed considerably.
