I've got a friend here in Canada and is a landed immigrant who has parents residing (overstaying) in the US illegally. They've been there for about 10 or more years now. He wants to know if they could apply as an immigrant to Canada via the Canadian embassy in the US? Will there be any problems for them? Would they need to apply to migrate to Canada via their country of origin and not thru the Canadian Embassy in the US? If it's possible, what steps does he and his parents have to take?
