   Hello Dear Mr Cohen,

We had our medicals in Dec but my wife got pregnant in Feb. Now we have recieved the Visas from Canada and have been asked to land before 1st Sept with all the dependents.

My wife has complications and cannot travel. Please advise urgently what has to be done.

You may contact the visa office in order to determine if any exception can be made in this case. As a general rule, extension of landing documents is not possible, however.

Failure to land within the specified period may necessitate a new application in order to be eligible to immigrate to Canada. As the principal applicant, you may seek to land alone, and sponsor your spouse and child later once the complications are resolved. This may entail considerable separation from your family, however, and will entail the costs and complications of a new application.
