Dear Mr. cohen,

I am posting the following once again for your reply, since I find you are regularly replying the quries in this forum. Please keep it up.

This is the question for Carolyn or ayone from this site who can throw some light on .
1) Does learning french before migration to English speaking part heplp? Even then one gets to write & read "well' but speaking is always a problem as it's not possible to achive native level. Hope yopu understand what I mean.

2) I have tech. product selling background and my wife sectary( non legal). Who would benifit the most?

3) I saw a IMMERSON COURSE in french offered to migrants. Are they really effective? In the sense for the people who have done (like us - learned two levels-equivalent to "o" level)some work how long does it take to speak as the native speaker?.

4)What are your suggestions to improve further before we actually land ( which looks like bit far off). Nevertheless what is your advice?

Long list of quries...sorry. Would appreciate your reply .

Thanks in advance...nkris.

Learning French can help an application, in that additional points are available if you are able to achieve a level of proficiency defined as "Well" (Can communicate reasonably well about personal and familiar things) in speaking, reading, and/or writing. As your spouse's occupation does not appear to be open for immigration (other than Quebec), it appears that you would benefit most by such skills.

Unfortunately, I am not personally familiar with the language programs that you are referring to. Perhaps anyone who has such experience may be able to resond.

Without knowing the specifics of your case, it is difficult to provide any estimate of means of improving your qualifications prior to landing. The best thing may be to begin making communications with prospective employers in Canada as early as possible.
