"Paper Screening"

   Hi Mr. Cohen,

What is meant by "Paper Screening" (please refer to paragraph below), is it a process by which an immigration officer is going to review the applicants document that was submitted and is it to be done before sending a file number or acknowledgement receipt to an applicant?

When will the applicant know if he passed the preliminary evaluation, is receiving an AOR means an applicant passed the preliminary evaluation/paper sreening results? Thanks for the explanation of this.

Best regards to your site!

"All skilled worker and business immigrant visa applicants have the option of withdrawing their applications and requesting a refund provided their applications have not passed through the preliminary evaluation (paper screening). The refund must be requested through the office where the visa application was submitted."

Meanne

An Acknowledgement of Receipt is usually sent as soon as the application has been received by the processing center. Paper screening, which may take place soon after receipt of the application or many months after, is the first step in the evaluation. If the applicant passes this preliminary evaluation, the next step would be to call the applicant to an interview or grant an interview waiver.
