I read that the required funds for settlement in Canada are about $17,000 CAN. But I already have a house, car and a job in Canada which pays my needs and I'm using for my arranged employment. I went to school in Canada, graduated and I am on a post-graduation temporary work visa. My question is, Do I still need that much money for something I already have? In response to message #0      In this case, a professional property appraisal report indicating the value of the home in Canada should suffice as evidence of settlement funds. This report should ideally be submitted with the initial application for Canadian Permanent Residency. Submitting it initially will allow sufficient time for the immigration officer to analyze it, and make a decision as to whether or not it will be an acceptable substitute for settlement funds.
