"If I get married before or after 28 June 2002"

Dear Sir,
First of all I would like to thank you for your important site.
I applied to Canada and I got my file number in 18 September 2000 (I was single), and I will get married in 20 May 2002 so I will attach my wife’s papers with my application, my question is that if I attached her papers to my application before or after 28 June 2002 what would be the settlement funds ($12,000 CAD or $27.000 CAD) that I should have .

In response to message #0

Generally, an application is assessed based on the rules and regulations in force at the time it was submitted. Since you received your file number in September 2000, you will be required to show settlement funds of $12,000 CDN once you are married.
