"How long is a Visa valid"
We are considering applying for Permanent Residency. If we were successful, how long would we have after receiving permission to immigrate before we would have to land in Canada?

As UK nationals, we would need to sort various things out here in the UK, e.g. selling our house, possibly waiting for the end of school terms etc. so there may be some delay between getting PR clearance and the time when we could actually move.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Applicants have one year from the completion of medical examinations to land in Canada. This typically allows a duration of approximately 6-9 months, from the time of issuance of landing documents, within which the individual is required to land as a permanent resident. There is no minimum time prior to which such an individual may subsequently depart Canada.
