"general occupation list"

   Dear Sir,

considering the law,do i have to chose an occupation from the general occupation list and insert the forms in order to be able to qualify or that list has lost its importance and education level, language level and experience criterias have more importance and influance in qualifying.
thanks and my best regards,

Technically speaking, for now, the General Occupations list is still in effect for files being submitted under the skilled worker category. All files in that category, being submitted at this time, are initially paper-screened under the current system of immigration, which does include the General Occupations list.

On June 28, 2002, the new system will take effect, at which the General Occupations list will likely no longer be applicable to the skilled worker category.
