"Processing at Columbo-Srilanka post"

Me and my husband applied for Immigration to Canada from Columbo post. We are in Pakistan. We received our acknowledgment of Recipt in December 2000. We were told that it will take 6 to 8 months to get an interview call. We have not heard anything after that from the Columbo Visa post. We are confused and frustrated, it is almost one and a half year that we are waiting. What shall we do now? Shall we send a fax to give us update in processing-- Any Idea how long does it take in processing an immigration application from Columbo

In this particular case, a request for a status update is definately in order.

In our experience, the current processing time for the Canadian Embassy in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is 2 to 3 years on average.
