"Will Temporary Employement affect Permanent Residence application?"
Mr. Cohen,

I currently hold temporary employement with a U.S Company under the H-1B Visa program.

A few weeks ago I applied for Canadian Permanent Residence. I also may have the opportunity to take up a position with my current employer in Toronto Canada.

I would like to know if my application for permanent residence will be adversely affected if I take up this position.

Any general advise you can provide on the ramifications of working in Canada, while awaiting a response about my Permanent Residence application would be appreciated.

You can apply for permanent resident status and temporary status at the same time (dual intent). Doing so will not harm your application for permanent resident status. However, your application for temporary status may be affected because an impression will have been created that you do not intend to leave Canada upon the expiration of your temporary status. Therefore it is better to apply for temporary status before you apply for your permanent resident status.

Otherwise, employment in Canada in the field of your stated occupation would likely benefit a permanent resident application.
