"chances of interview waver after medicals"

   Hello,

first of all I would thank canadavisa.com all for such a nice forum to answer our inquiries.

I applied for migration to canada in dec end 2000 from buffalo, USA. I recieved my medicals in sept 2001 and got medicals done on sept2001. But i didnot recieved any info from embassy on interview. I am intersted to know are there any chances of getting interview waiver since I recieved directly medical papers? Also if my interview is waived how long it will take to get my landing papers as more than 4 months had passed since my medicals.

with thanks,

Sandeep Sanan

In our experience the Canadian Consulate in Buffalo, NY, USA, advises our clients of whether or not they are required to attend an interview at the SAME TIME as sending them notice to conduct their medical exams. In fact the notice of whether or not an interview will be required usually arrived within the same mail package as the medical examination forms. (In fact, the 2 notices have, in recent years, always arrived together.)

We would thus recommend that you re-verify that correspondence you received from the Canadian Consulate in Buffalo, NY, to determine if the notice of interview/or/interview waiver was previously overlooked.

If you are certain that there is no such notice in that correspondence, then a status update request, in which you advise them that you have not received such a notice, would certainly be in order.

If your interview was indeed waived, then the Canadian Consulate in Buffalo New York subsequently spends aproximately 6-12 months conducting a security/background verification of the applicant. Once that has been successfully completed, the landing documents will usually be issued.

In our experience, the current processing time for the Canadian Consulate in Buffalo, NY, is 10 to 18 months.
