"Honkong Running late... Mr. cohen pl. Help."
Hello,

I posted twice but has not appeared on the board. Don't know why? Any how here is my query:

What is the apprx. time frame for LP for applicants filed in May'99 at Hongkong under Ind.cat, advised of interview required in oct'99( exact date of interview to be known within 15 months from oct'99)? You see, the 15 months period will be over in dec.'00. Are there any cases wherein they have asked further extension ( Hongkong cases , i mean)?.

I once again compliment you and your team for staring a site like this where we get valuble advice.

suggestion: The frequency of response must be increased

Would appreciate your response to this.

Thank you in advance... kris

The processing time that you will incur will depend, to some extent, on the jurisdiction of your residence. If you are outside of the jurisdiction of Hong Kong's office, then you should expect a total processing time of 26 months. The interview would likely require 22-24 months in such a case.

I'm in exactly the same situation in Hong Kong, and December is my deadline for the interview according to the letter I've received in October last year. I've heard there is a backlog in HK processing office, I hope Mr.Cohen could give us more information on extension practice of HK or any other indication on when should we expect an interview.
Thanks !
Val.

Dear Mr. Cohen,

The time frame that you have mentioned- 26 months is applicable for the cases filed in May'99 also? I thought the processing post would have progressed in earlier cases( like mine filed in May'99 From India) and therefore a shorter period for Interview call and further processing . Is my understanding wrong?

I do understand difficulty of answering such specific questions since it's entirely left to Hongkong and their speed. I do understand that. However your office may have some indications about the present level of pace on cases filed thro' you. By the by I have also filed thro' u.

Would appreciate any reply on this,

Thanks in advance....kris.

The estimate would apply to a case submitted of that date. This is an estimate, however, and is based on historical information. It is not necessarily predictive of future processing.
