"Is it really necessary to show proof of settlement fund"
I have a question that has been bothering me for quite
a sometime. I am a computer engineer living in
Pakistan, married and have a child, and an experience
of five years in software development with C/C++. I
wanted to immigrate to Canada in the Skilled Person
category. The bothering is that I donot have
sufficient amount of money ($14000 approx) in my bank
account to show as a proof of settlement fund.
However, I have a house in Pakistan having a value of
around $10000 in the name of my father and a bank
balance of around $4000. It is also very much certain
that during the processing of my application I may
raise a money of around $8000.

Now can you suggest me how should I go with the proof
of settlemet fund problem so that it would be
acceptable to the visa officer. Any other suggestion
is very much welcome.
Kindly answer me at your earliest.

AZA

1. "RE: Is it really necessary to show proof of settlement fund"
Demonstration of necessary settlement funds is an important part of a skilled worker application. Settlement funds are necessary to allow the candidates to support themselves as they seek employment in Canada. Failure to provide such evidence prior to the conclusion of the case can be grounds for inadmissibility.

Assistance from a friend or relative or a credible Canadian job offer may allow for the reduction of the required amounts.
