"Affect of illegal status in USA on Canadian immigration?"

i need this information that
Is there any affect of illegal status in USA on the candian immigration process? as i am overstayed here in USA and have filed my case for immigration.They were not bothering about the status in USA before but dont know after 11th sept. attack what is situation with this issue,
Is there any body can help me out ???????

Being out of status in a country (such as the USA) can sometimes negatively affect the outcome of an application for Canadian Permanent Residency on the grounds of "criminality".

Sometimes applicants are in a "gray-zone" in which they are in between status, and they have applied for renewed status, and are simply awaiting a decision. In such cases an applicant may be required to provide evidence of application for renewed status in a country, to the Canadian Government, in order to avoid refusal of the application for Canadian Permanent Residency.

In such case as above, will it jeopardize one's legal situation in US?Will the Canadian Embassy report the illegal status of applicant to US government?

Information provided to the Canadian Government for immigration application purposes, is usually maintained as confidential information, and is not usually revealed to foreign countries outside of Canada.

Although, it is possible that such information will indeed reach the US officials in your particular case, we can only say that the Canadian Government reporting such details to the US government is not the norm, based upon our experience.
