There are a multitude of reasons for a selection interview. Such interviews can be requested in even the best of cases.

Initially same sex applicants are considered in the skilled worker (or another independent) program. If one of the applicants does not meet the requirements of such, then Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds are considered.

The possibility of the requirement of an interview is at least tripled in this type of case as each of the following must be assessed:

1. the qualifications of the stated principal applicant;
2. the qualifications of the stated accompanying dependent;
3. the bona fides of the relationship;
