"File Transfer"

I applyed for an immigrant visa at Canadian Embassy in Belgrade. My visa application is assessed at Canadian Embassy in Viena, since there is a regional centre for immigrant visas assessment. Next year in February, for business reasons, I am going to be out of my country, maybe for a whole year and even longer. Since I'm expecting to be invited for an interview at Canadian Embassy in Belgrade during next year, is there a possibility to transfer my file, and to ask to have my interview at my new place of residence that will be out of administration of Viena Embassy. Or, is there a possibility to put my file on hold for a while, and to have my interview after my absence is concluded. Which of these two alternatives is feasible, and if both of them are, which do you think is better? What is the procedure for both of these two alternatives?
Lots of thank

It would likely be preferable that you return to Belgrade to attend the interview. If you transfer the application, processing of the case will re-start from the beginning. As most visa offices have interview backlogs of greater than 1 year, that may mean that you are not in the new country at the time that the interview and that the application may have to be transferred again.
