"visa"

   Dear Sir;
I want to apply for a student visa. Later on I would like to apply for permanent residence as well. I hope to do my doctorate there. Do you think I can apply for immigration now and at the same time apply for student visa because immigration generally takes time. Thanks for your input. Tom

Processing a student authorization and permanent resident application is not necessarily barred. To state, however, that you have the intention to be a full time student at the time that you would be expected to land as a permanent resident, however, would be contrary to the definition of a skilled worker application.

Unless it can be clearly demonstrated that the period of study would not coincide with your prospective landing, this may result in refusal of one or both of the applications.
