"Visitor visa"
 
   Hello,
I am from Sweden and I want to come to Canada on a visitor visa. I would like to stay for six months when I would be staying with my fiance who is a Canadian citizen.
1. Should I bring a letter from my fiance to show at my port of entry, and if so, what should that letter say?
2. Have you any advice as to how much money Immgration Canada wants me to have for visiting for six months? When I came to Canada earlier they asked me about funds, but they never said how much they would have liked me to have. I don't want them to give me shorter than six months because I didn't bring proof of sufficient funds.

   There is no fixed amount of funds that an applicant is required to demonstrate. The amount will vary depending on the itinerary of the individual, assistance from friends or relatives, etc. An immigration official would use his or her discretion in assessing the required funds.

Letters of invitation are not necessarily mandatory for admission as a visitor. If you do wish to provide one, a statement offering support to you for the duration of your stay can help with the requirement of funds.
