"status of application"

Hello, my brother went through the interview and did the medicals in March 2001. He was asked to do the X-ray again in May 2001. In August 2001 he sent a fax inquiring about the status of his application. Someone from the embassy called but he wasn't at home. He sent a second fax, but did not get any answer yet. What is the best way of inquiring? Do you have an estimate about the timeframe until he will get the LP?
He applied through Bucharest, Romania.

Thank you very much.

Written inquiries such as faxes are typically the best way to inquire about the status of an application. Including a fax number to which they can respond may ease the process of getting a response.

The expected delay between completion of the most recent medical tests and the issuance of landing documents would be 4-6 months.

   Dear Mr. Cohen,

Having said that the delays between completion of most recent medical tests and issuance of LP, would be from 4 to 6 months. Would I know then, from when should I start the counting? I completed my additional tests on June 28 and send via courier to CIC Singapore on July 11 2001.

Should I start counting from June or July?

Thank you for your attention.
