"about child"

   Dear Dr. Cohen,
I want to appy for independent immigration visa. Now I am married, but have no child. Because the process of application will take about two years, I have some questions about the process if the child is born during the application.
Case 1:If my child is born after my application is accepted and before the interview of immigration officer.
Case 2:If my child is born after the interview and before the landing of Canada.Of course, it is on the condition that I pass the interview.
In this two cases, could my child get the immigration visa? if it is possible, how about the procedure? Because I want to take my child to Canada with us. By the way, if my child is born in Canada, he will get the Canadian citizenship? Hope to get your help.
Thanks for your reply and kind treatment.

your turely,
bier

In either of the cases described, it is possible to amend an application to include a new family member. Ideally, such amendment should be conducted prior to the issuance of landing documents, as some visa offices will insist on a new application after that time.

With some exception, children born in Canada are entitled to citizenship.

   Dear Dr. Cohen,

Thanks for your great service. I have two questions.
1) Does amending the application form due to child birth delay the time period of PR applicaiton
2) what are the exceptions when children born in Canada might not be entitled to citizenship ?

Thanks for your great service.
Regards
nudupa

The later that you request such an amendment, the greater the overall delay to an application. On average, the delays range from 3-5 months. If, however, the amendment is requested prior to completion of your own medical examinations, the delay can be minimized.

Children presently born to diplomats or consular officials who are not citizens or permanent residents of Canada would not be entitled to citizenship.
