Hello shas44,
FOR POLICE CERTIFICATE: as per my lawyer and experience from lebanon it is only valid for 3 months however you can get it for free from lebanon if you are lebanese just it is has to be translated and certified and if you send it it will not hurt better have it than not ( just my opinion) and in case you dont send it it only takes one day to apply for it and translate and mail it same day in case they ask for it later dont worry about it now, and as for the MEDICALS all medicals FROM LEBANON will leave lebanon thru DHL to paris only on fridays start counting FROM LAST FRIDAY or the friday before if the medical was done already and give 2 days for mailing which means start the count from tomorrow and wait patienly for 3 weeks and you will be called for passport request and then dont mail the passport but go in person early morning better on a sunday or monday ,they open at 830 am and give the passport for them to stamp the visa . they may say come tomorrow or same day afternoon most of the times.

i didn't say that actually.. let me elaborate a little
what I meant was basically they fraud and we end up paying by the sense that we have to give so much evidence, im not complaining because obviously if the relationship is genuine you have no problem providing such informationg however its such a hassle, running from place to place*going to get the medical exam at AUB...not easy I went with my husband the first time.. you get so lost !! you ask help they tell you to go there its not the right spot then you remain lost.. dont know how it is for you guys in other countries but ya AUB.. wouldnt recommend it lol *, person to person for translation, asking for help all over but all the answers seem hopeless, wasnt easy ill tell you that.
I dont know how long it took you to get your file put together but for my husband and I it took us a good 3-4 months ! I came back from lebanon in end of july 2010 and started with the papers then.. and kept checking everyday to make sure nothing is missing and when something was i had to call my husband he has to go get that paper, translate it... find someone whos coming to canada somewhere and mail it with them to avoid spending 100$ to send a paper to canada.. moving on with phonecalls i used to use calling cards then found out I couldnt so had to find a way to print skype calls, then went to comwave so I can get an actual bill and send it.. whwat else.. pictures.. i sent half our pics because i didnt want them to be like sorry we need more prroooof so im excited for all this to be over so I can get back all these personal pictures that belong to us....what elseeeeeeeeeeeeee
anyways maybe thats a lack from our side that we dont know everything about this process but it defenitely wasnt easy and still is not.. i guess i just like complaining to this forum rather than to my husband lol :-)
Alhamdulilah all that has passed and now the somewhat easy part of just waiting is remaning!
