Hello Patrick and all,
Thanks for updating the list
again there is no progress for any of us
tomorrow my lawyer is sending an inquiry for status to damascus
I cant wait to hear some good news.
Patrick, we are 16 members so far and i am sure there is a lot more along with other threads
looking at our thread which is mingus on top of the list, they started nov of last year  which total to 10 months so far it should have been finalized by now
on CIC website it is stating that within 8 months  file shoud be completed which is not applicable in our thread
to compare jalalk case it is different becasue the lawyer forget to do her work and take care of her client to complete file or to update the client  and she requested file transfer to beirut which has casue an extra delay although i am sure she will not forget to ask for her fee and got paid for work more than half of it was done by the client/jalal

I am trying to see what damascus answer will be tomorrow when we send an inquiry, I am in process for almost 5 months and does that mean another longer wait like our friends.
anyway i will let you know what happen after my inquiry
good luck to all of us

Thank you kokobsb for the update,

Dear kamal, I am looking forward to see their reply, yet I dont think its going to be very satisfying.they are taking very long to process things here, you can probably notice that counting from mingus processing start date until now is more than 8 months, taking in consideration recently published processing times, they didnt finalize any in the list , when 80% should be finalized, at least 11 of us should have got their visas, thats why I am so mad.

they sent most of us inquires to submit further docs, and gave us that short 60 days notice for no obvious reason, the only thing that might justify all this delay is children school vacation in canada in july and august, the officers should be in offices today, because today is schools opening in canada, and I know that most canadian employees take thier vacations during this time of the year, regardless  their work and duties, so spoiled yes.

I dont expect anything before they start working on the backlogged files and updates, 2 or 3 weeks from now.

keep us all updated especially kamal, we have exactly the same timeline.

regards

Dear Rezan,

They requested the original marriage certificate issued by the Ministry of Interior / Civil Status & Passports with certified translation into English or French.

Dear Patrick,

I am Canadian/Jordanian and my wife is Jordanian. Application is very straight forward. I am very surprized about the delay.

Every time I send them an email I get the same reply that the application is in the queue and they'll contact us if needed.

dear leojordan

Have you previously paid the right of permanent residence fee ?? ( 490$ )
it is very very strange that they asked your original passports !!!! maybe they want to issue visas. are you in canada ? If yes, how did you send them your passport ?! you'll need it to leave canada. sounds strange to me !! Please explain a bit more about your case.
hope all best circumstances for you

Rezan,

They requested for the Original marriage certificate issued from the "Ministry of Interior / Civil Status & Passports" Department.

I actually thought they were asking for the passport too once we got the email.

Hi leo

The embassy should have asked you for the original marriage certificate long time ago, I mean when they first reviewed the file, and not 5 months after receiving the file, its easy for them to notice the absence of such document, and they know that you have always to submit the original marriage certificate.

processing cases where both spouses are from the same background, and especially when sponsoring a wife, who doesnt need lengthy  background check usually takes no time.

I know they're not working on my file. I guess it is just my luck.

I am on standby until they do. Will send them another email once it reaches the 8 months mark.
