To all who sent the passports, did you get them back?

My wife's passport was delivered on the 11th. She did not get any calls yet. How long should it take to print the visa?

Also, what happens when they're done. Do they call, send an email or just send it back?

Dear Leojordan,

Our procedure is completely different from yours, we have to send the passport via DHL or TNT to canadian embassy in Tehran and they will send the passport to damascus and the same in the return way. So it will take 1-1.5 month for having the visa and we can not track it.

I think they just send it back, no call or e-mail. but they wrote us that if you did not get the visa in 6 weeks contact the embassy, just that!

Guys they ask me for RCMP orginail  but i send them the original  what I am supposed to do. if I will do it again it will takes 120 days

I am very sorry that they haven't yet answer your inquiry. I know how does it feel not to know even if you need to redo medical exams.
All I can do is wishing you luck ! I hope they will answer your inquiry soon.

I don't know what is that. but if you have sent them the original one previously, I think you should contact them and see why they requested it again ! Sorry friend ! I don't have any more solution

I landed in canada on the 7th Oct, try to submit your passport in person you will get it the next day.

they will send you the passport with a triplicate called confirmation of permanent residence, that you will sign in front of the immigration officer at the port of entry in canada.

make sure you have your passport and that form in hands, in your carry ons, and not in your check in bags.

I agree with Rezan, just contact them and explain that you already send the original RCMP. What is your lawyer recommendation?120 days is too much!!! Search more maybe there is some other ways to get it faster.

There is no update in my file. We have still 3 days left to the end of this week.I hope we hear some good news in these 3 days.

for yaya, dont waste time send them what they need maybe by mistake your lawyer kept original and send copy if this happen your lawyer will not tell you
try to send them what they need it is long as is so hurry and dont wait send them all what they ask for

Hi,

What happened to my husband was that the embassy actually emailed him to tell the FedEx people that they could now pick up his passport and send it back to him in Cyprus.

The thing is that the embassy did not release his passport and COPR to the FedEx people until they presented the embassy with my husband's file number and full name. That might be the problem, so try emailing the embassy OR check your email and make sure they haven't already sent you a request to arrange for someone to pick up your passport.

Remember to provide the DHL/FedEx people with you file number and name so there are no problems. We were also waiting for a week like you and then later checked our emails and found out that it had been stamped the day they received it but were not going to release it without FedEx presenting the file number to them. I don't know if they will do the same for your case, but I would suggest just checking your email in case they have tried to contact you.

How was your landing experience and waiting time at immigration? My husband is landing next tuesday and I'm very excited. Just wondering if you can offer any advice which would help his landing process go smoothly.

this wait is killing me because I was admitted to university of toronto for fall entry, I wasnt able to be there on time so I deferred it for a semeseter. (university of toronto only offers fall entry but they made an exception for me to start from winter. I should be in canada before january to start from winter session. They really helped a lot for making exception in my case. If I won't be there until january all my plans and perspiration will be messed up!
u o t enrollment manager also told me that uot can send a letter to the embassy and tell them that I should be there until 7th January but my lawyer told me not to send that letter because he believe I'll get my visa before that time... now I am very nervous because I think I might not be able to be in attendance on time 
How do you people feel about my case ? Will i get my visa until jan ?? or it is better to ask university to send the letter to the embassy ?

Hey Rezan,

I think you should get it by December if the Damascas office gets on it quickly, since they started processing your file in June, you still have a few months to wait, but hopefully they get it done just in the nick of time.
The letter that UofT wants to send could help, but then again, the damascus office has certain checks and security measures that they take before issuing a visa. Depending on your case, how simple it is, and if you have lived in one country only, those are pluses in speeding up your processing time. You could always send the letter though and hope that it makes them work a bit faster, however this is a bit doubtful since they have their own procedures for doing things.

All I can say is stay positive, keep praying and try to keep busy, the time will fly by faster if you do.

ok this is my update i recieved a letter yesturday from the immagration office regarding the enquiry that i send and this is the letter

Dear Ala Nasser:
 
Please note that your husband's file is pending the receipt of the residency questionnaire which was sent in our letter dated
15 June 2010. Once received we would be able to continue processing.

continue processing are you serious ....... ahhh and that's after what 5 months they tell me that.... after i send them an email why ?? also  i am very sure that they have it because when my husband send all the requested doc the secretry check each paper and told him to photo copy all my passport's pages including the empty ones and she told him nothing was missing the next day when he submited the passport's pages.

today he went to the embassy and he submited the residency questionnaire again and the secretire told him that before his medical expire he should be called to hand in his passport if there wasn't any more problems ...

so what should i do now ? should i send an email back to the embassy saying why i haven't received an email in the "5 months" period regarding pending file and i haven't seen my husband since last june i really miss him is this going to effect the processing of his application time even more then that ?

i really don't know what to do? i am so  madddddddddddd
