Yes it is a long time, you should send your passport by DHL to Canadian embassy in Tehran and they will send it to Damascus themselves and then again they will send it to Tehran and DHL it to you... yes its better to go by person and it take just 2 days... I did it last year for myself.
I was really surprised, It seems that they were ready to issue the visa and they just need that form to be complete. I am so happy I did not spend my time on gathering more documents, thanks to Rezan, Eli and kamal for their advice.
and Rezan jan they just sent an e-mail for my husband.

And to tbone: my husband medical will expire on 13 Jan 2011 and the visa is valid up to that date.

Dear Friends, I have a question... My wife's medical has expired on August 29, 2010 !
What we have to do now? I'm worrying if this prolongs our processing time. How long it takes if they ask us to redo medicals? Can we submit it in person in order to reduce the time or we have to wait again until our medicals go from Tehran to Paris and then come back to Damascus? (As you know all medical reports for Canadian Immigration first goes to Paris, France and they send it back to Damascus)

And last question, is there any update in Mingus and/or Jalalk applications? Because I don't see any posts from these friends in this forum.

Dear Omid;
I hope you will have your visa very soon. I believe its better for you to fill another inquiry. If your wife's medical is expired she has to do it again.There is a law; "an immigrant must have a valid medical when entering the Canadian border".I don't know if you can redo your medical without their request, maybe there is some specific process or when they ask for the second medical they gave you a specific file number or ... , so it is wise to send them another inquiry in this case they will go through your file and inform you about your medical expiration.It is really sad to see some cases take these long, but be patient everything will be ok. Wish you best of luck.

I totally do agree with Eli,,, your wife MUST redo the medical exam, but I am not sure whether she should wait for their request for medical exam or she can do it without receiving a request...
As far as I know she can redo it without their request. I mean you can do it sooner and send it to them in order to save time, but as mentioned before I am not hundred percent sure, so please ask an expert person. I am really sorry that your case took this much long and hope that you will receive a good news soon...

so far we are a great group and loving and caring for each other like brothers and sisters
can we list our destination in Canada
could be a great idea and one day we should all meet when all this process is over and we are all in canada (IT IS JUST AN IDEA )
