Thanks for the reply....My MP told e that they are conducting the reference check, but they have not received the medical results...my wife did the medical exam in October 2010, doesnt it sound fishy?

if they are the doing the background check does it mean i am close to the end of this process?

the medical thing isnt a big deal, the mail 3 things they check is if the marriage is genuine, if the person is a risk to canada or its citizens and the settlement of the person and their sponsor,  who knows exactly how long it takes to check these 3 things out but sometimes its quick and sometimes it isnt, the main thing is we never know which they are doing first,  and my friend, there are people here that have been waiting alot longer than you and are in the same situation but they still havent gotten their ppr,so only time will tell .... but background check doesnt mean its the end of the process

Your wife have to write a letter authorizing your mother to drop and pickup the passport from the embassy.

depending on how long the background check takes which depends from person to person

u have to fill the autorization paper it must be at the bottom of the ppr letter...good luck
