family sponsorship for people who live in quebec and want to sponsor from quebec is already there, remember quebec is a different country lool
this as you all noticed this isnt about us, only skilled workers wanting to immigrate to quebec, everyone Else's case is the same as before

I read the letter also and i had the same question : i dont understand why they say that the family sponsorship is already processed from montreal....mmmm... i think i will call Immigration Quebec on Monday.

i mean that when you fill up the form to be a sponsor, the people who live in quebec have different forms to fill and different rules, the province of quebec isnt the same as the rest of canada, Montreal is like a Mississauga for them, all the files of spouse sponsorship is in damascus, simple as that,

this letter was taken from a site that provides information ON IMMIGRATING TO CANADA VIA QUEBEC, it has nothing to do with anyone else, its just saying that they are not processing in damascus anymore, but you can all be sure noone of our files are anywhere but damascus

Well, im from Quebec and maybe i filled different papers for the sponsorship comparing to other people who are sponsoring from the rest of Canada. However, I sent my papers to Mississauga and Montreal as nothing to do with the process. The letter said that the files are already processed in Montreal which its strange cause my file is in Damascus like anyone else.

However, I sent my papers to Mississauga and Montreal as nothing to do with the process. The letter said that the files are already processed in Montreal which its strange cause my file is in Damascus like anyone else.

maybe the translation i read was wrong or not accurate but what i understood was nothing is changing for anyone but skilled workers

Why is everyone worried? It is clear that our files will proceed the same way & this was only for Skilled Workers applying for Quebec. There is a Quebec government processing office in Damascus (MICC) and there are seven of those all over the world to process Quebec Skilled worker applicants. In other words they get their CSQ's approvals from these offices. For Family Class sponsorship, it's different, this step is done in MOntreal and has always been done in Montreal because it is dealt with as a priority right after the Missaussauga CIC approval. As a sponsored spouse, the CSQ is conferred based on the CSQ of the sponsoring party and this is done quickly in Montreal then sent to the Damascus embassy.
So nothing is affected for Family Class sponsorship for Quebec applicants, they will always be processed at the MICC in Montreal and not in Damascus.
In fact this piece of news is good for us because they would have more federal agents deal with our spouses/parents files.

just to clarify I am only talking about the CSQ which is the only difference between Quebec applicants and other provinces. Everything else follows the same exact process. And according to Damascus it is all the same. THey just want to see your CSQ in the fille before they give you the visa.
