Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009

Guys Question : When the Ecase will update, My file has been forward to Damascus in Sep  9  and still  show nothing.

Dear yaya. Ecas is not reliable. They dont update it. Sometimes people get their visas and land in canada but ecas still shows "in process". When Did damascus issued your file number?

What do you mean by When Did damascus issued your file number?

Do you mean they send my file to Damascus or there onther steps here I miss it !!!

after case procxesing centre pass your file to damascus they will issue a file number for your application and inform you by mail. Have you received your file number or not yet ?
Have you ever used ecas ? What is writen in your ecas?

Sometimes though they dont even mail you and just send you an email whenever they need to contact you, but that depends on if the applicant gave them an email address in the application and wanted to be contacted by email.

My husband was always contacted by email and his e-cas still says file processing began on march 3rd and nothing after that ever got updated.. so sometimes e-cas is very slow in updating. so dont worry!

And to update you guys, my husband sent his passport to them on the 24th and they got it today, 26th
I'm tracking it so let's see how long they take to send it back to him..

My lawyer has been received Mail from the CIC when the accapt my wife as sponser, wth ID file number, I used this one to see in Ecase
 it shows in Ecase,  this

You should wait. Damascus will send you a mail containing your file number.

How long before your medical expires?? and have you tried to contact them recently? also if I may ask the same question to amber, did they issue the visa for your husband with a max validity of october 10?

My wife's medical will expire by the end of october, and we are unsure if they will ask us to renew it.

Medical results have been received.

2-  am I supposed to wait from 21 sep 6 months or from the date I submet the application.

you will receive a letter containing your file number. Now damascus has received your application and will review it. Next step depends on your case. They may ask for more documantions to be submitted
count 6 months from 21th september

Hi,

My husband's medical expires on November 10th and he was contacted to send in his passport to them, which he did 2 days ago. They already have sent it back so he should receive it by Friday thru FedEx. In the email he was told that they will either use the medical's expiry date OR his passport's expiry date whichever comes FIRST as the date to land in Canada. So check that out, also, if they realise that the timing is a bit close, the officer may extend your visa expiry date and give you a week or two more to land in Canada. The medical is only good for one year, and after that they usually ask you to re-do it.

I hope this answers your question, but if you feel that they won't contact you before your medical will expire, then I think it's a good idea to think about re-doing your medical. But most of the time, Damascus office seems to do it quite quickly because they know the medical will expire within a year.
