Hey guys! I signed the petition too. Hope it helps. I checked online and the waiting time for skilled workers is 9 months and ours is 10.I believe sponsership cases should have the highest priority but apparently they don't I am practically glued to the news channels to see what is happening in Syria. I am afraid that if the situation becomes any worse the embassy will be closed for some time  |

Be aware there have been a lot of immigration related petitions in the past. Recently nearly 500,000 Canadians signed up to prevent an Internet billing fiasco, the government actually took notice. (Openmedia.ca). You are going to need a massive amount of signatures to gain traction on this. I am not suggesting that people should not sign up, far from it; but everyone needs to understand that the likelihood that it will impact anyone in government is quite low. |
