Tabrikaaaat Siavash jan, Please publish your "Ankara Safarnameh" as soon as you can. Wish you a safe trip and have tons of fun ahead!!!

I am sure Ankara is working pretty hard to decrease the volume of files; hundreds of files(or maybe thousands) were transferred from Damascus and now count us in this forum.
The same story goes on in other VOs too. So No Worries my friends. We all already got it! Tongue

There r many small points that I can share with u guys.
To choose my hotel, I searched tripadvisor and read travelers comments then booked my room through booking.com.
My hotel was a 4-star hotel named "Turist Hotel" and was 6KM away from the embassy. If u insist to reserve ur hotel close to the embassy its not a good option; however, as Ankara has a very convenient public transportation system I could easily going to the embassy by bus.
Bus fare is only 2 Lira and is much cheaper than taxi, so I think i made a right decision to book a hotel close to city center where all the shopping malls and historical sight seeings situated rather than the embassy.
While u r in Ankara u only need to go to embassy twice but u definitely want to visit city center regularly, so don't make ur choice solely on the distance from the embassy.

yes siavash joon if i was being sponsored i would book my hotel in antaliya, take a swim, have a beer then fly to izmir do a little tanning, then kayseri for shopping, then goreme for culture then my visa, ( i lived in turkey for 1 year) but when someone , ESPECIALLY an iranian husband, is sending their wife, they want something convenient , close, safe...... forget sight seeing baba Cheesy
for example me, i rather pay 100 $ for a taxi then have my wife get on a bus in turkey, thats why i got her a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and back for 60,000 toman , yeah she can go walk around, shop do whatever, but having peace of mind is a whole different story.....

One other thing about Ankara!

Taxi fare from airport to city center is between 70-80 lira, but if u use bus it's only 5-10 lira. I never used a taxi during my stay in Ankara.

The biggest problem I faced in Ankara was that most of ppl couldnt speak English. I believe having a map is necessary, if u show them the place u want to go on the map they try their best to help u.

I have one map with myself so if anyone needs it, I would be happy to give it to him/her.
btw, as soon as u reach ur hotel u can get a map from the reception at no charge.

Their main avenue is ataturk which is like valiasr. It connects north side of the city to the south and there is hundreds of buses moving on this route From 6 AM till 12 PM.

Any question comes to ur mind just buzz me! S_fathian @ yahoo.com

ok, two completely random questions:
when time we wanna go to canada do we need to pay the KHORUJI fee?and will we receive the travel dollars?

Maybe because I'm a boy I didn't notice. But I found Ankara a very safe city with friendly ppl who can't speak English!!
Obviously, booking a hotel close to the embassy has its own advantages.
