Again no update for any of us !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was reading thru different applicants from before for damascus office and some other countries that when they send a letter to applicant to state that they are doing background check still in process some of the letters end likethis:
WE ARE IN THE BACKGROUND CHECK AND WHEN THIS IS COMPLETED A LETTER WILL BE SENT TO YOU REGARDING DECISION MADE FOR FINAL STAGE. PLEAE KEEP YOUR REQUESTS TO OUR OFFICE FOR A MINIMUM. WHEN A VISA IS ISSUED IT WILL BE VALID FOR ( HERE THEY TYPE THE DATE OF DEADLINE FOR VISA WHERE APPLICANT HAS TO BE IN CANADA BEFORE EXPIRY DATE).

However in my email from damascus i did not got that  last part in the email.
I guess I am reading so many threads and I am worried now what is the difference between that kind of letter it is like they are confirmind visa issuing while in mine they only mention background check keep emails to a minimum.

I am so confused and waiting for good news

I see that you are so stressed out.Just sit and relax everything will be ok.I know it is a very hard time for all of us but surfing the web just make you more confused and anxious.Please be patient.
There is nothing wrong with your case and you will have your visa very soon.

our group is like a family I hope all of us get thru. sometimes missing our loved ones makes us upset or stressed but you are right being sad will not help.

Dear friends.

I have a good news..... today I saw one of my friends, he told me that his sister who sponsored her husband from Iran, got the visa last week. she started the application on Feb 2010 and got a mail for submitting more documents on July. It seems they are doing something in Damascus.
I hope we all get good news very very soooooooooon.

me and my wife speaks 2 hours on the phone daily and both of us are enjoying our lives

Today my lawyer received an email from Damascus embassy.I will send them the papers as soon as possible, but it is unbelievable after 7 months they asked for more documents.It is surprising when I sent my file for the first time in February, I sent copy of my Iranian passport with its translations. I am so angry and disappointed.It shows that during this 7 months they didn't even look at my file

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.  Please send the following requested documents:


-          Please complete the attached residency questionnaire with your sponsor/ wife.

-          Copy of your sponsor's passport in which showing all entry and exit stamps.

You must send photocopies of the Farsi originals of all documents. Only send ORIGINAL documents when requested. All documents, in a language other than English or French must be accompanied by original certified translations into English or French, except the passport. 

Please note that if you do not comply with this request within 45 days of the date of this letter, your application for permanent residence in Canada will be assessed on the basis of the information already before the officer.  Failure to provide the requested documents could result in the refusal of your application.

i can understand your fears and that you are disapointed but from my poiny of view this is a good news!!!
Because it shows that your immigration check list is almost done. Only 2 other things remained
if u send these documents to them they will check these box as well and it means that ur visa will be ready very soon. See the positive side eli khanoom
i believe ur husbane is going to get his visa in less than a month
what is ur lawyer ideas about this email ?

Hi Eli..

I am happy for you because they finally open your file... and I am sure you are going to have the visa soon... it's a good sign. And about your Iranian passport, they just want to see your status in this 7 month, so passport requesting after 7 months make sense for me.
Maybe I will get the same mail these days because I haven't received anything in these 7 months..... but the bad thing is I wasn't in Canada in the summer.....

dont worry. There is no obligation for being in canada all the time your file is being proccesed
so be happy and relax ( take these advice from me as a doctor ) who passed cardiology with 19.5 score ) )
i am sure you will get same letter soon and as far as your case is genuine and u commited to trueth there is no need to be worry of anything else

  thanks ( kheili kharkhoooni, man 3sal avale darsamo pezeshki khondam TUMS, and I know what does 19.5 mean in that department!!!!!!!)

Actually, I read both sides. some said you MUST be in Canada in the processing time and some others said you must be in Canada in the applying and landing time....  I was in Iran for my wedding ceremony and honeymoon and I will provide them with all the photos... I hope they accept it.... I can do nothing else..
