The information you mentioned is exactly correct.When I sent my file to Mississauga I send everything including Police certificate, medical and all the fees(24th February).The embassy didn't contact me or update my file since 30th March.Thank you for keeping track of Damascus applicants, it is really nice and helpful.

 Biejing and new Delhi family class are going faster as I noticed from other threads comparing to damascus ( CASES STARTED IN 30/6/2010 INTERVIEW WAS TODAY VISA ISSUED TODAY AUG 23/2010 FOR BEIJING) AND SAME FOR NEW DELHI
anyway, it seems we are almost close to each other in regard to time and as soon as one of us status changes that means we are to follow FOR VISA APPROVAL.

Hi everyone

My husband's file was sent to Damascus and processing started on March 3rd for his file.
We did receive a notice to pay the rest of the fees (PR = $490) and send in his police records from cyprus on june 15th,
we sent it in a week later and haven't received anything after that... just waiting.

Gluck to everyone , I'll update as soon as I hear anything.

App received by mississauga: April 9, 2010
Sponsorship approved: May 21, 2010
CSQ app sent: June 1, 2010
CSQ approval: June 30, 2010
In process Damascus: June 1st, 2010
Request for docs: July 18, 2010
Docs sent: July 25, 2010

Now waiting....

I was told within 60 days a decision would be made since July 18.. Not sure if they will do that but I hope so.

hello guys and girls
as you know previously i mentioned that the embassy in damascus requested my civil state that shows my martial status in it .
well i got married in canada and i have a canadian marriage certificate that was sent with the application.
well my civil state in syria shows that i am single because i got married in canada and not in syria i am scared that they will hold that against me ,because i have sent my civil state with the application and why requesting it again???
in order to change my martial status in syria i have to go throughout a court decision that could take up to 4 to 5 months ,if one of you guys got married in canada and the embassy  requested to register yourself and your wife or husband to the native country as married please reply . or give me an explanation thank you very much for your help and i have good news too i just got my certificat du selection my wife just e-mailed me thank youuuu eheheh.

There is alot of info missing from your case but just a few thoughts...

how did you get married? civil marriage in canada or through a religious ceremony? if its civil marriage, I dont think Syria recognizes these marriages. If it was a religious ceremony (maktoob ektabak), then there is  a chance you can get some sort of equivalence. But you need to ask about these details.

The other option is get married there in syria and generate the paper work. It doesn't take long to produce the marriage certificate. Probably within a week.
If your wife is not in Syria, let her do a power of attorney to someone there or make her fly over.

the thing is mine shows in process since 17 nov 2009, i redid my meical back in april, had my interview in june 10 and nothing happened yet
what do you think is taking so long, is that normal ?
