Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009

Hi all, I hope everyone is doing fine. Not sure if there are peple in this forum that are Lebanese, but here is the latest news. I went and saw my MP today, gave me a paper to send to my husband in Lebanon to sign so she can access his file. Now here is the SAD PART. I applied for my sponsorship back in May 2011, recvd e-mail stating granted sponsorship on June 8,2011 and that my file was sent to Ottawa fr further processing and if it goes to Damascus they will advise me. So now  we are Feb 8, exactly 8 months, hired a lwyer no help, called CIC they couldnt help. Here is what the MP told me. Your file was in Ottawa and then it went to Montreal with another 150 files and guess what??? It wasnt processed at all with the other files because simply they were waiting for the situation in Syria to get better and were unsure what country they will be sending it to. So my file just left Montreal Feb 6 and it is on its way to Beirut. WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT the hell??? 8 months for friggin nothing. I coulndnt believe what she told me , I said this is ridiculous. She said this is nothing, there are 3 peple that will be working in Beirut and on the old files. And to start processing anything i have to wait till mid MARCH, cause they are being trained now. She said the waiting time is abt one year and some cases up to 2 years. She said that the governmnet is not posting everything on CIC immigration but a lot of things has changed....and that they cut down 10% of the workers. I asked her WHY?? she said well do you want Canada to be like Greece. We have to watch our debts. But the funny thing was...she asked : That's the price you pay when you fall in love with someone overseas. So I said, r u telling me next time I should fall in love with a European or Chinese so my wait time is 5 months or less. I said is that the price we have to pay just because we are from the Middle East. SHe said you have to stay positive and patient. PATIENT?? 8 months of being patient and never complained and now I find out that all the files that said sent to Ottawa never been touched. So GOd help u guys out there whose file went to Ottawa between May 2011-Aug 2011.....

I got upset when I read your story!   my applcation was received in Damascus on April 5th 2011, just one week after receiving my approval! Now that I compare my case with yours, I doubt if my application have  been  sent to Damascus, because , based on what e-case shows, It took just 7 days to send my file to Damascus !!!!!!!
 what post company can deliver my application in less than 7 days to an unstable zone  like Syria!!!!! and what officer can very quickly update the e-case right after receiving my application from the courier???
I try to be positive, but the evidence shows that likely my application might be still in Ottawa (((after 9 months))) !! I am getting crazy!!

No I think yours is in Damascus, because mine was transferred 2 weeks after yours and since my husband once got an email about sending some documents to Damascus for sure ours is in Damascus, so should be yours.
They don't use normal post and mail companies, there must be some kind of special between embassies post system that they use.

Things are really changing in Canada from every angle and theyre really cracking down on immigiration; they don't need anymore of us in Canada...unbeleivable

No I think yours is in Damascus, because mine was transferred 2 weeks after yours and since my husband once got an email about sending some documents to Damascus for sure ours is in Damascus, so should be yours.
They don't use normal post and mail companies, there must be some kind of special between embassies post system that they use.

best way to check is the mp, if anyone is worried they should do that, i was notified in December that its in Damascus in queue for processing

My application was sent to Damascus on Aril 12/11.

Did anyone send thier application before me?? and have they received thier visa yet?

Does anyone know how much longer I need to wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Can't do this anymore.

We have the exact same timeline:) Ours was also received April 12 2011. I am also sponsoring my husband from Iran. Have you received any emails or correspondence from Damascus? We have not heard anything. Our applications should be in Turkey now but it all kinda seems like a mess so I think we just have to be patient for awhile until the backlog clears. hopefully we do not have to wait more than 3-5 more months... but there is no way of knowing. They don't need "MIDDLE EASTERN", Canada is filled with Indians just look out side your window (if your in Canada right now) precessing time is only 6 months, and i read on the form that they are getting it faster then that.
There is a Indian guy that was on the Spet form that applied the same time as me( Sept,15,2011) guess what he got his PPR on Jan,10,2012. and he was so upset that it took his wife that long, oh ya they have previously refused his wife 6 times a visit visa, but hey they give ppr to her in 4 months.

Just for your information the highest immigration fraud is from Indians. I know because my a cosine is a Imagination agent. (not in CIC-m)
