Dear guys

On the CIC site, it sais that my file was transferred to Damascus on 3 MAY 2011, and never heard anything since.
Does anyone have an idea in which stage i am? should i expect anything soon, i am Lebanese and my wife is my sponsor.

Anyone here have his file transferred near my dates to Damascus.

My file was sent to Ottawa June 8/2011 and never heard anything since. But they told me that they will notify me if they will send it to Syria. I am also Lebanese and im sponsoring my husband who is in Lebanon. I called my MP and now I have to fax an authorization paper to my husband so she can help me find out the status of my file.

hi guys was wondering about the situation in syria . i was contacted by the embassy 3 weeks ago asking for medicals and finger prints . since i lived in canada before  .. i did send them however i never recieved a reply back i emailed them twice so far didnt recieve any reply , am not sure if my application is in its last stage or what . its been since 2010 . if any body has an idea please let me know . best regards

i think you are aware that the embassy is closed and all files are already transferred to neighbor embassies. All of us here are waiting for a news from new visa offices. We also have applicants from 2010 here who are waiting too for a long time. So it is not at all a strange thing. Where are u from?

Your file was sent to Ottawa, and the file of my wife since she is my sponsor was sent to Syria.
What should happen now? do you think i am half way in my procedure or still in the beginning?

What is the difference between file sent to Ottawa or Syria? on the CIC site, it sais that a decision has been made, they sent my wife a letter that her sponsorship to me is accepted and the file is transferred to Damascus and that i need to fill some more papers, the lawyer helped us and said that we have to wait, how long? no one knows.
I should have had my Canadian passport by now, the first time i applied was in 2006 when we had to go to Canada because of war, but the mistake was that i came back to Lebanon with a one single entry visa to Canada, i couldn't go back, my file stayed in process, i had to re-apply again in 2010 and dumped the first file. Pitty

Dear Ajaxxio,

i think that your case and Lello's are different. Lello's file never sent to Syria and it stayed in Ottawa.
Have you ever received any notification from Syria such as email or others?
I think probably your file was in Syria and now transferred to Beirut. And if it is so then you have to wait till Beirut contacts you hopefully soon.
One of our friends here Ottawa-2010 shares the same time line as yours maybe he can help and inform us if his file has already received in Syria or not.

What the hell should I do with this agent?

hi mehdi hmmm very rare the sponsor was rejected....and if the VO has a doubt they will ask for an interview first and u can show the proofs there i'm outside Canada too and i showed tax returns, bank account statements, credit card (i never closed the Canadian accounts), letter of support for us when we go back, employment opportunities, affidavit from my parents that they r ok to help us and we can stay with them, i wrote a letter abt my other ties with Canada (e.g i still pay loan there, i still have my mobile number, i still have lots of memberships there) and i also put in evidence the lack of ties with the current country of residence (where i am just to be with him and if he won't b here for sure there would b nothing for me here); also, we both wrote abt our future plans there; please don't be scared, probably i overdid it and in any case, u can keep all this in mind and prepare them for later; as for ur agent, the fact that he sends them letters without telling u and showing them to u first and he does not even remember them (kept a copy) is truly unprofessional....i would b sooo angry and not only fire him but make sure other people know abt his "professionalism"; good luck!!

by the way u guys were so funny yesterday with the chickens without heads....me too i saw that before and yeah the comparison is hilarious....vivi don't be sad for them, at least those chickens had a happy life (walk around, run after flies, enjoy the sunshine, the grass) not like the ones from cooperatives where they just sit and have no place to move
