Thanks for the reply Sohrab. Do you think I should send my wife to Damascus to do the Medical exam AND go to the embassy to try to make them process her application as an "emergency". It would kind of be a "two birds one stone" thing. Do you think I should do this ?

Also, what about her police records? I know that police records only last for 4 months. She sent me the police records a week before I submitted the whole sponsorship application. Should she also make a new police record paper?

One last question: Would you recommend me to make my wife try and do a "Temporary resident visa" so that she can come here as a visitor and then do things from here?

I am asking all these things because if she goes to Damascus she must profit the most of the occasion because she won't be able to travel back and forth from Homs to Damascus easily.

Thanks for reading/answering. Much appreciated.

Dear Yahya,

your wife has a priority as Syrian.

The web site of embassy has refreshed in 24/01/2012. I think it is a good sign!

Guys,
I should be a lot patient than most of you in this thread since my application is only in the first stage and we have a long way to go. But It is really frustrating not knowing what will happen to your file. I sent our application on December 13th and I was hoping by the time I get my sposorship approval they have figure out what to do with Damascus embassy. Today someone who sent their application on December 2nd has received their approval and I think ours will be approved in a approximately a week from now. But I'm afraid that they keep our file in Ottawa and do nothing about it just like they did to some one's application in this thread.
I know all of you are anxious and frustrated and all we can do is wait and see but at this point I feel like we're just being viewed as bunch of file numbers. Sad

reaaaaaaaally someone in december already got the approval??!!!!! Shocked that's great news....but on the site they say they currently process Nov 22nd applications Huh nobody understands this process and their way.... hope our turn will be soon.....don't worry laleh, they will find solutions i'm sure; and maybe it's better if they keep the file and don't send it right away; u don't want it to get lost or arrive to a closed embassy with noone able to transfer it after!!!! they keep it just to know where exactly they will send it....i believe the time lost at the beginning will be gained in the process, don't worry Smiley i hope they will keep our file as much they want in ottawa; i pray for that!!!!!

keep following the other threads and let me know also and i think u can start checking ur e-cas too; good luck!!!  Kiss  Grin

Laleh jan,

By the time you sent your application the processing time for the first step was 68 days (now it is 74). You applied for ur hubby 44 days ago and the variance for the first step is only 3 days......Personally I doubt that u receive ur approval any sooner than 3 weeks from now (Considering that 24 days of the first step is still remaining) and by that time the situation will be hopefully clear.
See it this way that since u r in the first stage, ur file will be processed 8 months faster than the rest of us. Stay positive and do not let it occupy too much of ur mind!

I, too, think that your wife should go do her medical exam and her police certificate asap and physically go to the embassy if possible before they shut and transfer files. She could get it same day because that was the exact case of someone else in the thread. I think you shouldn`t delay at all because they will announce transferring files anytime now, probably by the end of the month. Best wishes!

the embassy ended the priority for Syrians 2 weeks ago!! even on the website, all that announcement about helping Canadians and their families to leave Syria as soon as possible expired; it might be too late but u won't know until u try; good luck!!

Yes exactly, however, I think she would still have a chance.

I don`t think she`ll lose anything by going there; however, the major dilemma would be for me the office for the medicals!
