Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009

Hi everyone, nshallah this coming month will be short and sweet for all of us. I know that a lots of things will clear up in regards to where our files are ending up. I am in Toronto, and I am sponsoring my husband in Lebanon. My files was recved on July 4, 2011 in Ottawa. Now I spoke to m lawyer and I was advised that my file is under process and due to the situation in Syria it was never sent there.
He also advised me that all the files that are in Ottawa most likely will be processed there and some in the UK. For those whose files are in Syria, their applications will be sent to UK london and Ottawa. And when you are required to pick ur passport, it will be either Ankara, Rome or London. HE told me that the processing time is 12 month and to expect my husband to be here summer 2012. He assured me that there are few dozens files in Ottawa, and they are working on one by one and giving visas out.
So hopefully things are going to be smoother and good luck for everyone.

honestly at this moment i think the best option is to wait, the situation is really messed up and complicated, not to mention UNORGANIZED!
i think right now its a waste of money and time, atleast if you want to do that wait till you know what happens to your file, where it ends up, if times change, things like that,

but I am worried now ( London , Rome, Ankara) yaret in Lebanon or at least Ankara because I know from friend that happened with her and her family when she was in UAE, they transfered their application to London, and London gave them a visa to inter UK, but the overall cost will on their charge not the canadian office.
Lebanon or Turkia will be good for me at least my friend

I call the embassy this morning to ask about the files of my wife. The lady told me that the embassy is close ( visa section) and because my wife is lebanese the file was transfer to beirut. She told me that we should receive a call or a e-mail from the embassy in beirut. I try to call the embassy in beirut but there is no answer. I was not able to reach someone its always voice response. I will try to e-mail the embassy on beirut.

My files is in process since 13.5 month. Its crazy!!

Everyday I feel more confused!!! it will be nice when they announce it and we know where our files are! everyone who calls the embassy now seems to get the same answer so at least it seems guaranteed they are closing.... now to know where out files are   there seems to be lots of different answers to that. our lawyer just keeps telling us to wait and see, he has no idea whats happening. Hopefully soon we will find out. hope you all have a great day/evening:)

Hi Hab, 25 days between your wife application and mine, I have send an email on 21 of jan to damascus and I am waiting their answer. I think it is a good idea to send an email to Beirut office, I think after 13 month we can call and send emails every day.

dear lele i need to ask u if u know: how did ur friend get the application transfered outside UAE? did she send a request or it was the embassy's decision? was it also a sponsorship application and were there some particular circumstances (uae visa cancellation, etc) thaaaaank u so much!

you know   waiting is a hard thing  for all of us,
I think the time line hasn't any concept  for them,
every day as  one month passes for us, now we see  that they are so relax and they haven't worked on
my files in these days!

yes lele you are right, I wish my file send to the country which process it as fast as possible,no matter how it cost me,but of course Ankara could be good choice because its close to Iraq.

Hi missmini, about my friend, their application wasn't sponsorship.
the transfer had happened because the office had closed at that time,
the decision was from the embassy or not I am not sure but they left to KSA because of her husband's work,
that is what I remember.
I will try to get more information .
