Siavashf, Greetings! I hope you make it to the new home (Canada) soon. I am a newbie here. I have browsed here quite a lot. But I am just starting to post comments. Reading different threads make me really stressed. I am a newly-married and staying here in Iran till my husband gets his immigration. We don't want to be away from each other. Now, my question to you is, why is it taking you so long to get your papers? is it normal to wait 14 months plus to get an answer??
Hi dear imatra, Actually we filed my case 9 months and 10 days ago. I received my file number 8 months back so the whole process has been very normal so far. However, my wife is going back and forth between Iran and Canada during the last 14 months.... One question, r u a passport holder or a pr? |

Right Arezou, I thought they start sending the files somewhere else, but I guess not. I thought our case is a very straight forward case. But after reading some of the messages in here, I think there is no such thing as straight forward and transparent ...
I just had a chat with my lawyer, spouse sponsorship files are still in Damascus. Skill worker files are being sent to Poland and Quebec files to Canada! Good for them!! Ours is still in Syria. |

Hi Lele and thanks for your advice. I can use any bit of advice from anybody here in this thread. Yes I read that in various threads. Well it is a little bit hard to make any living arrangements when you are a year and a half away from getting the papers. But I have been living in Canada for 20 years and I don't have any plans to live here in Iran forever. I tried to include as much as possible right now, like letter from friend offering a place to live, etc. I think they will ask for more evidence as our file goes forward.
Ok then forget my last post! U r a passport holder, lol. A friend of mine has a very similar situation to urs, he applied for his wife in December 2010 and he stayed here with his wife.....they r still waiting for Damascus to do something!! His lawyer told him that since they r living together in Iran their file might get delayed and they may need to provide their visa officer with some documents, proofing they intend to live in Canada. |

Hi everyone! The embassy emailed me today telling my husband to redo his medicals, God knows we needed this email.
Our app was received in Damascus April 6.
He re did his medicals, we will now send over the green sheet and the clearence.
Good luck to all, the end of this process is near for everyone.

weird think is, ours expired a week ago and they asked us to re do it right away, atleast this means their looking at our papers that's all we are happy about i'm sure everyone will be blessed with PPR's at their given time |

thats great , yeah i noticed when i was in damascus there was no real order to the files, it was more of a ping pong game, i mean we had some people getting notices for RQ or medical within 8 9 months and others 10, like me, its 10 months and i havent heard a damn thing from them, but ive been through too much to lose hope or even feel negative, ive come too far to be sad now, whats the worse thing than can happen? 13 months, ok wtvr bring it on lol |

CAIPS is the predecessor to GCMS, so people who file a request with the Access to Info Office of CIC nowadays are requesting their GCMS notes, not their CAIPS notes.
