Thanks Arezou ... Wow, so I'm looking at the beginning of Summer of 2013 (if nothing goes wrong of course!)... I might not as well bother myself with counting days and months and relax and enjoy my time here. I am wondering what are the most common mistakes that could be done in this route? Any idea?
The biggest problem is the situation in Syria. It affected the processing time there. And then the back ground check is the another point. We live in middle east and you know how the world think about this part of world.

Dear Imatra,
The waiting time is different from case to case. Here we have friends who are waiting from November 2010. So nobody knows what is going on Damascus. No news. We are waiting. At least you are not alone and it is a big chance.
Wow ... soooooooo long ...

Right Arezou, I thought they start sending the files somewhere else, but I guess not. I thought our case is a very straight forward case. But after reading some of the messages in here, I think there is no such thing as straight forward and transparent ...

Yep, like I said, all I did when my habiba got the approval email in his account was print that out and enclose it with the forms that had already been sitting there for some time, just waiting for that letter signed by CIC. In any case, they don't take nearly the same amount of time that any given forms for the application with the federal government take, but why not have it done in advance if possible, you know? Like I said, it's not like that helped in the end. MICC supposedly sent my VO a copy, I sent CPC-M a copy when I sent them my RPRF payment and asked them to forward it to my VO, and I sent them several emails to ask (ok, beg them to tell me) if they had it or not. And then finally they sent me an Initial Assessment saying my interview was waived and they needed my CSQ. So yeah, when we both said it all depends on the embassy, that's no joke. But I do believe the average IO at the average embassy starts doing some work on your file before they expect the CSQ. Conversely, if they get your CSQ copy about a month later after they get your file, they may not have started doing anything anyway so you're just like the non-Quebecers. I HOPE U R RIGHT but each VO is different....in some offices it was clear that they were working on the file while the CSQ was processed while others i'm not that sure; many were delayed in the past just because the office was waiting for the CSQ while the applicants were thinking that they have it; anyway step by step....we plan to send to Missisauga next week hopefully, do u suggest that we start filling the Quebec forms right away? thanks and good luck!!

Does it say "decision made" under the "spousal sponsorship" section or under the "permanent residence application" section? Because it's completely normal to have it be decision made under the first....that simply means you got the approval from Mississauga and it went to the next stage with Damascus. Best of luck. hey friends, they phoned me from the MP office right now saying that your file is in normal processing time and still in backround ckeck and that theyll contact him for medical when all is done.I told her it says decision made on ecas, she said that means its beeing processed now.so does it mean all this time since feb it was just a file under all these files until jan3 they opened it!conclusion:ecas is a big lie and seconed, after one week they email your MP back as for us never.so it looks like Narooz for me too.hahaha.I like that Narooz,it sounds lucky.

Hi imatra, I think because you and your husband not living in canada, they may ask for evidence that both of you wanna back to canada to live there.

Daer ATHAB, At least now you are sure that they are working on your file and hope it will be finalized before valentine's day. It is earlier than Norooz.

Wow, ok, that is interesting given that often people will land and they still won't see it change to "decision made" under PR for months. I suggest ordering GCMS notes. That pesky e-cas, sigh. it says decision made on both sides.spousal sposership and permant resident application.

Hi Lele and thanks for your advice. I can use any bit of advice from anybody here in this thread. Yes I read that in various threads. Well it is a little bit hard to make any living arrangements when you are a year and a half away from getting the papers. But I have been living in Canada for 20 years and I don't have any plans to live here in Iran forever. I tried to include as much as possible right now, like letter from friend offering a place to live, etc. I think they will ask for more evidence as our file goes forward.

Hi athab, as Arezou said it means they are working in your application now, and I think because of this mistake, they will be faster to finish your file

Yeah, I bet. Talk about being teased by CIC. Anyway, I don't think you have too much longer to wait but the notes should give more insight. Best wishes. thanks ddabro2 maybe it was a mistake when they updated ecas and it wasnt for me but clicked it in mine,i should have never looked at it.I have 2months left for the 13 months timeline anyway getting closer.
