Hey Erina-
a few people have tried with no luck,  but I remember a few getting it. one was a wife who was in Lebanon I believe. She was pregnant with twins abs was able to get a visitor visa to becwith her husband. I think you need exceptional circumstances to be successful at getting it. so sad they keep us apart from our loved ones so long:(

My wife applied for me in late March 2011. My application was received on April 1st in Damuscus.
I received my client number on May 9th and since then which is around 7 months and 3 weeks ago I'm waiting for Canadian embassy to do something!

I m from Iran too , and we almost have the same situation, after I got my client number I didn't hear anythings else,
we have to wait,   in this site we have the members that their waiting time is 13months but nothing!

This forum is definitely helpful! The least is it gives everybody this chance to share their situation with everyone and this way u can remove a little bit of pressure of ur shoulder! I'm optimistic that I'll receive my visa or PPR before Norouz....so lets keep our fingers crossed for that.

Unfortunately, there is no standard time in this procedure. A friend of mine received her file number on Jan 7th and she is waiting yet for something to happen! But I believe that my visa will be issued sooner than her, since my wife is a PR holder and is living in Canada while her husband is a citizen of Canada and is living with her in Tehran. I've heard that there is a priority for those who are forced to live far from each other....so lets be positive on the whole story!

Hope we receive our PPR before Norooz. I hope my dreams will come true too!
I think in this game we only need a little bit more chance! They don't work with a pattern. Therefore we cannot understand what's going on there.

We had a friend here from Iran "coolamir" who was sponsoring his wife from Iran and was living in Tehran too, it took him 15 months to receive the PPR and also we had "KAMAL" who was living far from his wife in Lebanon and it took him 20 months to receive his PPR. So it shows no rule in Damascus!

At the same time we have 57 applicants for year 2010 and the average time is 9 months. In year 2011 they issued 54 visas for members of this forum, 2 for applicants from 2009, 44 for applicants from 2010 and 8 for applicants from 2011.

Lets wish 2012 brings us many many PPR.

nothing new from Damascus also today,

I just finished video call with my husband on skype,
he want to start buying the furniture for our house he think I will be there soon, but I am worried, the embassy may ask for an interview and I knew from reading some stories  in this forum they may refuse.
when we got married I did not wear a white dress because there was event of death of a relative that we love, so we did just a smal party without music.
we married a year ago and 6 month.
we are wasting best times, and many beautiful moments.

Such a thorough analysis is made here! From ur mouth to God's ears!! 9 Months is perfect, even if it becomes 11 months we will be ok with it. At the moment I'm relaxed because my wife is here in Tehran with me but she will return to Canada in 10 days.
During the last 11 months, she has traveled to Iran twice.....I can understand that it is a very hard situation for everyone and I hope that this understanding comes to our friends in Damascus too and they speed up the process for God's sake!!
