No, the letter addressed to the sponsor in your case sent by CPC-Mississauga notifying him or her that s/he has been approved to sponsor the principal applicant. Tina should have the file number there since she applied only a few months ago.
Hey guys!!
Yes I do have a file number/ UCI # that I got emailed with the approval letter from CIC-M.

I am sponsoring my husband. and from what I heard that file number I already have is for me. My husband should get an email from DAMASCUS stating the new # is that true?? I dunno. HOw do I know that Damasucs recieved the PR application package and/or if they even opened it? Sad oh God I hate this whole process...Good luck to you both my dears Smiley

CIC doesn't approve the sponsorship, the local government of Quebec does in the case of applicants from Quebec. Tina is your hubby in Quebec?

Just want to point out that UCI (client ID) is not the same as the visa file number. The former is xxxx-xxxx (all numerals), the latter is Bxxxxxxxxx or Fxxxxxxxxx.

CPC-M first approves the sponsorship and then sends the sponsor, if he or she resides in Quebec, instructions on how to apply for the CSQ (which is the sponsorship approval for the province of Quebec). However, you must be approved by the federal government first.
CIC doesn't approve the sponsorship, the local government of Quebec does in the case of applicants from Quebec. Tina is your hubby in Quebec?

Ah, you're originally from Iran, right? How do you and stillwaiting know that this affects only Syrian nationals? I didn't see that specified anywhere, just the "in Syria" terminology.
I'm Lebanese, I inferred that it only affects Syrian Nationals because the text specified like you said "in Syria" which means residents or nationals of Syria who would be physically affected by the violence in the country.  who are affected by the situation have been promised their visas when they went to the embassy. People (ie from the forum), i lost track of who was it (regardless I'm happy for them but this is just to explain to you).

Oh I was asking Arezou about being from Iran. I actually inferred that because it only says "in Syria" it's talking about anyone currently residing in Syria, whether they are Syrian nationals or not. I'm sure that the powers that be in the Harper government can at least understand that when there's mass political violence in the country, it doesn't magically affect only those who are citizens of that country.

What do you think? Will they speed up every cases which there are? I do not think so.
I think Syrian applications are prioritized due to the circumstances there.

If your view is correct then we can go to Syria and say we are under danger and get our visas!

I have no idea what they're prioritizing, all I can do is read the operational bulletin and the other statement and I didn't see them use the term "Syrian citizen" or "Syrian national." Honestly, my heart goes out to everyone who has to deal with this danger on top of the annoyance of the PR process. I don't think you could pay me to go to Syria right now.

Yeah, I'm one of the lucky ones in that at least I get to be with my 7abiba while I'm waiting foreeeeever, so I can see how you'd be willing to go to Damascus for a visa. But you don't have to, correct? You can mail your passport in to Damascus and wait for them to add the counterfoil and send it back to you in your country, right?

We have to wait till they send us passport request. Otherwise we have sit and wait. We can not do any thing.  Lips sealed
