I have a question guys, please help.

I married my wife in July, in Austria. I am born in Iran but have been in Canada my whole life. Basically my question is; do our Shenasnameh's(i dont really have one) have to be updated with our marriage status for the ppr to be granted or is our Austrian marriage certificate enough for the Canadian authorities? The reason being, it will be a big head ache, if at all possible, to get me a shenasnameh in order to have hers updated....

Thanks in advance.

I found the following notice regarding the processing time in the website of Ankara VO:

You may consult the Citizenship and Immigration Canada web site for normal processing times. Please note: Cases outside these normal processing times may request processing status in writing only. Status enquiries submitted within these normal processing times will not receive a reply.

If you reside outside of Turkey, you should expect longer processing times.

Processing times are calculated from the time a completed application form, correct fee and accompanying documents are received.

 Lips sealed
The reason that they just copy&past  similar replies to our enquiry , is that they may think  our processing time is 13+5= 18  ! so they don't have to reply our vital questions necessarily !     Angry

I feel bad for this note If you reside outside of Turkey, you should expect longer processing times.>>>I think this is discrimination, what is the fault of an applicant who doesn't live in the same place where the embassy located?
I will go and rent house and live in Jordan loooooool   Cheesy if that help to get ppr soon Roll Eyes

Hi Siavash,

I sent them an email on Feb 21st about my application as well and received the same thing as you did today. I don't know whether to take it as a positive sign or....!

Dear Roham,

Since I have a shenasname and my marriage is registered in it I can't be a good adviser; however, I remember that there were Iranian ppl  whom marriage was not registered in their birth certificate (shenasname). Arezou, maybe able to help u better in this regard.

If u couldn't find an answer and were still confused I can give u my lawyer (Mehran Yousefi) contact number to ask for his opinion.

good luck Wink

Personally I think u ,as a sponsor, should only provide CIC with documents that shows ur marriage is not fake and in this case an Austrian marriage certificate should be enough. One question, is ur wife Iranian? If the answer is negative then u, as a Canadian, have married an Austrian girl and u won't need to be worried about the Shenasnameh thing.

Hi everyone

good news

My wife recieved PPR yesterday. They gave her 30 days to send her pass. Our file reached Damascus on 1-march-2011 and she redid medical exam in Nov.

It seems that they are working much faster now. I am sure all of you recieve PPR soon, stay hopeful and positive.
