my friend let me remind you, even when damascus was running normally, they never said COME PICK IT UP, when i applied there was no protests or anything like that and people still had to use the tehran embassy, some people didnt listen and went to syria, yes they are not going to turn you away but they much rather do everything by mail, they try to keep the pickups for local applicants but when i was in Damascus i saw so many Iranians there getting into fights with embassy staff , in ALL PPR emails it says use COURIER

i didnt mean they NEVER said it,they tried to avoid suggesting it but i know people who got the same email as well but if you read my post correctly you see i said its a preference, when i was working in damascus they told us NOT to advertise the pick up option because they didnt want 200 people lining up, which is why in tehran the canadian embassy doesnt even open the door if you ask about immigration stuff, 1 its a safety issue and secondly its a drain on the staff of the Visa office
