Dear Rah,
CAIPS means: Computer-Assisted Immigration Processing System
"If you feel that there has been an unusually long time since you last heard from the visa office, you might want to get your CAIPS file to understand what the current status of your application is.
Sometimes delays are caused by heavy backlog at the visa office and, although frustrating, checking the CAIPS file at least provides reassurance that the application is on track, however slow the processing."

I need some help regarding the payments
From what my agent told me : I got to pay a $600 application/ Processing fee, ( which I 've paid already) for the applicant.
I read some where yesterday that another $490 has to be paid for the issuance of PR .
and If it's not paid till they ask u to pay , it's gonna add another 2 months to the whole processing time.
If this is true then I rather attempt to pay it up front,
what is ur input?

Happy Valentine's to ALL...
I guess I always come with the bad news or it is like that for most of us. I just wanna share something that my lawyer told me and compare to what the MP says and what cic website states and nothing makes sense. One would think Canada is organized but they are disoriented more than us. My lawyer said that it takes physically one month for files to arrive to Beirut from Ottawa. So here it is my file never been touched since May 2011 for nothing. He said that Beirut is gonna be working on files from Iran and there are more than 10000 files.....it must be a lie.

the Ministry of Immigration announced last week that they closed the section in Damascus and that they opened full processing section in Beirut starting February 1. The embassy in Beirut is now going to process the files for the Middle East and Iran. Consequently, your file was transferred to Beirut. It will take one month for the physical file to reach Beirut. It is a situation that concerns a few thousand files (perhaps over 10,000 applications).

Dear Lello, I am really confused. Which one is your lawyer's words and which one is minstry? Is you lawyer saying Beirut is proccessing Iranian files and there are 10000 of them |

I'm sorrrry, BUT lawyers knoww sh*t-waste of money in my idea. Someones lawyer told them a hundred percent you will have your visa in the summer (march applicant) and they don't even have it yet! lol. They know what we know Happy valentines day all. xoxoxo Good luck |
