Sohrab , is it true that the embassy is closed? not that i know of no, unless it like happened in an emergency situation or something but i honestly doubt it, like i mentioned before its one of their main policies let the people know, especially people who are or will be affected by this |

I know the Damascus VO deals with Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran and Iraq appliations; how many employees are there to take care of such large numbers?

I called the embassy yesterday and asked them if they are going to close/transfer files and they said that they will let us know in 10-15 days of whats going on. By the way she was talking I now have a huge feeling they will be closing and transfering the files. I told her my hubby is in Lebanon, and she said that they will contact him from the embassy there..so i'm guessing files have already started getting transfered, and when its time to notify us of the quartely update they'll also update on the state of the embassy--just my guess! All things happen for a reason, if this is the case atleast my man doesn't have to travel far to get his visa, when it is issues!
Also, I asked her if she believes that this would slow down the process at all, and all she said is we are hoping it wont!

Thanks for the news nairyd. 10-15 days just for informing us?! I wonder how long it takes them to physically transfer the files!! Good job Damascus! Take your time in making decisions and carrying out your decisions and informing us of your decisions!!! Yep, absolutely take your time, we are soooo used to waiting and being patient!!! (Sorry guys, some days I feel that I just can't take one more second of this process) |

VIVI JAN!!!!!! hugs hugs hugs;) I think they are transferring now... if they released it to the news that hey are closing they would get 1000+ frantic phone calls so they do all the behind the scenes work and then release the news so everything is all transferred before we are frantic.... although I'm kinda frantic already! lol! my husband is going crazy so I have to stay sane enough for both of us!
Soon Vivi we will be living the dream!!!! I wish you lived closer to Alberta!! Have a great day:)

I was a mess last week so I understand! all 3 kids were sick (VERY) and I was so stressed out about this whole thing! I do wish we knew what was happening but I think we will know soon... when they do the quarterly update that is due Friday! Hopefully the update the site quickly! let me know if you see anything on your ecas. I don't have my B file number yet. emailed them a few times for it but no responses. I can log on with my number from Mississauga but I don't know if it's the same info.. I remember someone saying there was more info when the logged on with the VO file #. Hope everyone is keeping their spirits up in this silence... praying for all of us:) |
