Here is an important piece of information that might affect some of you who are represented by members of CSIC. CSIC has sued the Federal Government. Nobody knows what the outcome will be and how this will affect the CSIC Practitioners.

Visit their website at w w w . c s i c-s c c i . ca. This is on front page.

They are suing the government because CSIC have messed up the industry and were caught out.
This has very little to do with defending consumer rights, it is more likely about keeping the money that they receive from members.

CSIC members will register with the new regulator.

Quote
Transitional measures would be put in place to ensure continuity of service for both existing members in good standing of CSIC and their clients during the transition to the ICCRC. This process could take a few months to complete and it is anticipated that the ICCRC could become the regulatory body this summer.

I have to agree with Baloo.  CSIC did a poor job of protecting the profession...it is time for a change.

So much for consumer protection.  Sounds like the only thing that matters to CSIC Members is having a regulator that makes immigration consultants happy, not protecting immigrants from crooked consultants.

Haven't heard any concerns expressed about protecting the immigrants who have investigations or disciplinary hearings against a CSIC Member; as it stands right now these will all be closed.  I wonder if some of those celebrating CSIC Members are the ones being investigated, disciplined or at disciplinary hearings right now with CSIC?  Hmmm...
