Why?  Unless CIC ask for a Canadian criminal records check, you don't need to do one.  If they request it, you go to either the Corp or Commissionaires or ClearNeed or Comnetix International Fingerprinting Services  see: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2009/ob116.asp  The will send the result in usually 72 hours.

Thank you for your prompt reply.
That's mean I do criminal record only if CIC ask me to do, right ?

Coz I would like to find some volunteer job which need criminal record.

By the way, Can I apply a SIN card while waiting for the first stage approval of my permanent residence ?

1.  Separate criminal records check.
2.  No work permit, no SIN no.

HI, PMM

I have received a letter from CIC who asked me for doing medical test and criminal record.

Then, I would like to ask a question, what does that mean ' passport size photos' require for the above both check ?

Thank you for your help

By the way, I have read the website you give me.

And there is a few questions:

1. Does the service of fingerprint in all company need to pay ?

2. Does there is no free service of fingerprint ?

3. The fingerprint service is full set or not ?

thank you

1.  Most place charge for fingerprinting.
2.  Maybe, a local police station.
3.  Full set.
