Hi everyone,

This is my first post.

My American wife is gathering fingerprints etc.. For the FBI checks. She also needs a criminal record check for South Korea, because she lived and worked there for one year. Unfortunately, she cannot find the address where she lived there. SKorean embassy told us we need it to do the check. I called Immigration Canada and they told me we could write a letter explaining the situation. They also said that there is a chance they could delay the process, or even reject her. We haven't sent the application yet. What in the world are we supposed to do? She just can't find it. Period. What should I do apart from writing a letter?

Any similar experiences?

During all the time she was there, she received no mail from anyone?  She never emailed anyone and said, if you need to find me, this is where I can be found?  She was there and working, how did she find her employer, how did she find the place she lived in in the first place?  Think outside the box, because she has to present the record.  If she can't find the address, maybe someone in her family or connected with her former employer can.

CIC can and has rejected people for not presenting records from countries they lived in.  If you cannot satisfy the immigration officer you are not inadmissible, they are perfectly within their rights to deny the application.

That's what we are doing right now. Thanks for replying! I mean, it has to be somewhere.

Does she remember any land marks, businesses, metro station or school by her missing address.  If so use google to look them up and then use google maps to go around the old hood until she finds her old home.  Often time you can zoom in on the exact street number  and if not at least the street name will be better than nothing.
