I sent my application pack to CIO, Sydney from Abu Dhabi, UAE on 11-May-2010. I had chosen my payment method as Credit Card. My card was charged on 17-Aug-2010. I found about this transaction from my credit card company. However, till date I have not received any communication from Canadian Immigration. No file no, no email, no letter.

What should I do apart from waiting?
Is this time span normal?
Can I contact them?

Thanks,
Moby

well, almost all of the MAY and pre 26 June applicants are waiting for the 1st AOR (email with the reference no. from CIO). u can check them at MAY/June applicants.

>> at this time, while waiting, u can collect supporting doc. to be sent to VO.
>> this time span is bit abnormal. Pre 3 May applicants got their AOR after like 2 weeks, but, now CIO is saying at the moment is it takes 10 weeks to get the AOR after cc/dd is charged.
>> u can contact them by calling them or sending them a fax. (with ur first & last name, BOD, Passport no., origin of country)

cheers

Thanks for the info

If we know there's a delay then should we really contact them? Is they delay only at this step or at subsequent steps as well. According to the Canadian Imm Authorities process times would be reduced now. Doesn't seem to be the case!

Also, you said start collecting VO documents, credit card being charged is surety you mean that we will get to the next step? I was worried about this.

Thanks

You aren't alone, you can follow may applicant Topic:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/may-2010-applicants-t40510.0.html;msg434388#msg434388

You should wait 10 weeks from time CC got charged after that you can contact CIO. If you will contact them before 10 week time, they will just say you to wait.

Hello Guys,

I applied for FSW under the old category in may and my application was rejected due to declien in payment due to CVV error. We again sent our application in october and within a weeks time they again processed our application and our credit card was charged with the visa fee on 15th October.

I am not sure on the timelines for receiving AOR ... but can anyone guide me as to what would be the next requirement as for documentation process so that I can start working on the preparation of all documents any list or link would be very helpful.

Thanks
